Worship-Warship

2023

Warship–Worship comprises two large card models displayed within a cabinet: the German battleship Bismarck and the Parisian cathedral Notre Dame. The Bismarck is titled Worship, and Notre Dame is titled Warship, because each model is constructed using the printed imagery of the other.

This is made possible by copying the two sets of printed component parts and swapping them, so that when constructing the battleship, the parts are cut from the cathedral imagery. Likewise, when constructing the cathedral, the folding parts are cut from the battleship.

Both models will be structurally accurate, but their printed imagery will be swapped — giving the Bismarck the appearance of Notre Dame, and Notre Dame the appearance of the Bismarck.
